CTI is one of Northwest Ohio’s new Hi-Tech Industries.

While many forms of remote sensing have been around since before man first walked on the moon or started looking for oil and gas from satellites, the remote sensing technology used to recognize mammal hair or feathers for their chemical composition of hard keratin protein is just now in its infancy. Like most emerging technologies, this one started with an idea to solve a problem that did not have a solution. Looking for something that is not in the visible range for humans came natural to the inventor.

CTI’s co-founder and Chief Technical Officer, Dr Robert K Vincent, a Geophysicist, is one of the world’s foremost authorities on remote sensing. Currently a professor at Bowling Green State University, Dr. Vincent’s first exposure to remote sensing was during his military service with the U.S.Air Force in the late 1960’s. Remarkable as it may seem, Captain Vincent’s first assignment was to confirm the geology of the Tranquility Base site for the Apollo 11 moon-landing mission. Dr. Vincent is co-founder and former Director of OhioView, a remote sensing consortium of the 10 largest research universities in the State of Ohio and was the founder and former CEO of GeoSpectra Corporation, an oil and gas exploration company.

More recent Dr. Vincent is also the inventor and co-founder of another Ohio based Hi Tech business, Blue Water Satellite, Inc. (BWSI). BWSI uses patented satellite imaging technology to detect the presence, location, and concentration (down to parts per billion) of early Cyanobacteria blooms in the world’s lakes, streams, rivers, ponds, and reservoirs. The World Health Organization now considers cyanobacteria blooms, commonly called Blue Green algae, a pollutant.

Our goal at CTI is to provide hi-tech solutions to the problems created when animal contact with modern machines results in loss of life to humans or wildlife as well as the monetary impact caused to the economy. We will continue to grow our Company and develop products that meet the specific need of our customers through additional research of this new technology.
